They say your vibe attracts your tribe, and my meeting with Kirsty Furniss (the other, other Kirsty on the Coworkation team) was proof in the pudding. Here, Kirsty explains just why Bali is such a unique environment for inner work, and how we go about it on our Coworkation.
Kirsty is the founding team member of The Hub Singapore, one of Asia largest entrepreneurial, tech and creative communities. She also is a facilitator at Nirvana Mind, a meditation community, support system, and a safe space dedicated to providing practical sessions and courses for people looking to improve their health and sense of wellbeing.
So often we forget that our inner work directly effects our perceptions of the world, our personal and professional life and our happiness.
“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” ~ Rumi
Slowing down & quietening that mind
Mindfulness and meditation enable us to really quieten that monkey mind and remember our innate qualities and train our emotional intelligence. Ubud invites us and provides the perfect environment to discover or delve deeper into our own practice.
Letting go of and overcoming fears, old habits, limiting beliefs
We are all born ‘gold’ getting below all the conditioning, stories and societal norms brings us closer and closer to this. From casual conversations to facilitated circles Ubud encourages vulnerability and safe spaces to share, work on and cast off what is holding us back.
“When you realize nothing is lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” ~Lao Tzu
Using our voice, claiming our authenticity and power
It might sound weird but voice activation and chanting, like meditation, is a profound practice that helps you relax your body, quieten your mind and shift your awareness and vibration. You get such a rush of joy and forget about all that stress, while helping you with self-expression, confidence and power in challenging situations.
“I want to sing like the birds sing, not worrying about who hears or what they think.” ~Rumi
Remembering life’s simple pleasures and our joy
Bali and the people here are great teachers of this wisdom. What do you really love, let it pull you and guide your work and life choices! Many of us are working on the fine balance of freedom, responsibility, work which brings us more of this yet the sustainability to grow, be, contribute and thrive.
“In today’s rush, we all think too much — seek too much — want too much — and forget about the joy of just being.” ~Eckhart Tolle
Deep diving in waterfalls, bamboo encircled rivers or hiking ancient forest and volcanic trails
Time in raw nature makes us feel alive, science agrees it also offers us the opportunity for greater creative thinking, clarity and reduces negative thoughts and stress. Taking solo time, guided or unguided, in Ubud’s beautiful wilderness provides us with the opportunity to tap into our inner wisdom, intuition and vision.
Places like Ubud and Bali encourage a life of bliss blending inspiring work, well- being, personal and professional growth and contributing to bigger global shifts!
Globally people are discovering and remembering together life changing practices and wisdom that enable us to live more fully and freely. Kirsty supports, locally and internationally, this Inner Work of entrepreneurs, individuals and teams through mindfulness, sound activation, guided vision walks, retreats and ceremonies. Her half day program on the Bali Coworkation is transformative providing greater clarity, vision and growth while deeply connecting you with yourself, nature and an inspiring supportive community.
